Follow these tips to keep the riders happy and the roadtrip rocking:
Feed the Brain
You've polished off several rounds of 20 Questions, and fought your way through a solo ABC Game (including Q and V!) Now it's time to bust out the podcasts. Are you feeling the feisty memoirs of your favorite comedian, or conspiracy theories to get your spidey-sense tingling? You're stuck in a car ... for several hours … now is definitely the right time to dive into your downloads.
Feed the Mouth
The right car snacks can keep your brain alert, your mouth happy, and your patience from running thin with traffic slowdowns and restless companions -- you need to get this part right! Definitely keep the snacks non-messy (who wants to spend the next 4 hours sitting in melted chocolate?) And give yourself some flavor options -- one stretch of highway begs for the sweet stuff, but around the next curve you may be longing for a salty bite. To nail the dismount in the Roadtrip Snack category, steer yourself towards some crunchy gourmet popcorn.
Feed the Soul
A roadtrip is the PERFECT time for RLS (Really Loud Singing). Remember that song you used to love in high school? Belt it out for all you’re worth. Don’t quite remember the lyrics -- who cares? In roadtrip karaoke the lyrics (and possibly even the tune) are highly flexible. You and your backseat back-up singers can rock the highway with some legit harmony. And if you're making this long-haul solo, you're free to sing, croon, or yodel til the car windows start to shimmy. Lean into it!
A roadtrip is not just about the destination ... it's about the journey. Keep your brain, mouth, and soul happy and prepare to rock your roadtrip for all its worth!
Safe travels -- from your friends at Doc Popcorn!
